Privacy Policy
How IAPI handles member and visitor information.
Effective date: January 1, 2025. The Indiana Association of Professional Investigators (IAPI) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through IAPI websites and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, phone, agency or firm, Indiana PI license number (when applicable), and any profile details you provide.
- Membership records — application status, dues history, and participation in IAPI events and training.
- Communications — contact-form submissions, email correspondence, and event RSVPs.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) used for security and site reliability.
How we use it
We use this information to operate the association: verify eligibility, manage membership, run events and continuing education, publish the member directory to other verified members, and communicate news relevant to Indiana professional investigators.
Sharing
IAPI does not sell personal information. Member-directory details are visible only to authenticated members. We may share information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of members, or with service providers who host our website and process membership operations under confidentiality obligations.
Your choices
Members may update or remove directory details from the member dashboard, opt out of non-essential emails at any time, and request deletion of their account by contacting Info@IAPI.net.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated access controls, and row-level security on member data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password for your member account.
