State of Indiana licensing — informational only
Indiana PI license renewal
The information below relates to a State of Indiana licensing-board requirement. It is not an IAPI membership fee and is not paid to IAPI.
- Cycle
- PI firm & security guard agency licenses expire October 1 every fourth year (e.g. 2023, 2027).
- State renewal fee
- $300, paid to the State of Indiana — not to IAPI.
- Background check
- Each qualifier should obtain a state-level limited criminal background check covering the 4 preceding years. Third-party checks are not accepted.
- Notices
- Renewal notices are sent approximately 90 days before expiration.
